About Me

My name is Taneleer Tivan, and these items have been handed down in my family since the beginning of electronics and the computing age. Many of these parts have been neglected and their use forgotten by our current civilization, but I wish to remember the importance they had to my early forefathers many centuries ago in the Information Age, and show them on a World Wide Webpage. Now a relic of a time past, but still a crucial part of history.

Timeline

Motherboard

Throughout the history of computers, this component would continue to be the most important in the running and build of a computer. Often called the 'Motherboard', it would be the brains of the computer and have the most power. With it's own attached processor and fan, it would co-ordinate the systems of the computer and ensure everything would in perfect synchronicity. With ports to allow a graphics card or RAM to be connected, making the computer even more power hungry and powerful.

Graphics Card

Often exclaimed and bragged about in the computer communities, the 'Graphics Card' is one of the most revered and hard to find components of a top-tier computer. With history telling us of massive shortages and regular computer consumers having to pay exorbitant amount of dollars in the early 21st century. These components would give users the power to access virtual realities through their computers and at the time held a truly large and fanatical following in many of the realities.

Laptop Screen

In order to really see the realities and power of the histories computers, 'Screens' were required to allow our eyes to see what was being computed. Coming in many different shapes and sizes, every computer would be connected to a screen and allowed users to see what they were interacting with. In the later 21st century, screens would become obsolete as virtual reality made them redundant and many screens were recycled and lost forever.

Laptop Battery

Power in the 21st century became harder and harder to come by. To handle this, manufactures started making computers mobile and easy to move. Therefore 'Batteries' become essential and were often used by smaller computers in order to allow users to use them, wherever they were. However these batteries still needed to be charged and would often start losing charge after continual use, often just after a few days.

Hard-drive

Data used to come in many forms and waves of transmission in the past. For those avid historians, the first computer data came from discs which were then read by a computer and processed. With the advancement of technology in the Information Age, 'Hard Drives' were used to store bits and let the user save data straight into the computer for safe keeping. Acting as a sort of internal computer file, these parts let users expand their computers storage space.

Fan

With such immense power going into a computer and all the components working constantly, heat would often build up in the case. 'Fans' were used control airflow, allowing cool air to get into and onto the components of the computer whilst hot air was expelled. Often times these fans would be coloured with RGB lighting, however even with extensive amounts of research in current age, it's still unknown whether or not the lighting helped with air flow.

Disk Reader

Even with the introduction of hard-drive in computers, 'Disk Readers' still remained a vital part of the computer. Often acting as a modularized component, users would often decide when building their computer if they wanted to include this part in their design. This component would allow the computer to read older discs and then would transfer data, either from the disc or onto the disc using the reading component of the part.

RAM

'Random Access Memory' was an integral few components which would attach to the motherboard and give the computer a short-term memory, as opposed to the hard-drive, which acted as long-term memory. Coming in various sizes, these stick often come in either groups of two or four. Through the 21st century, these sticks would be developed to also have RGB lighting, akin to the fans of the era which would seemingly increase computer speed, however this has not been credited as of yet.
